Very Interesting Day!

Well, I had one of THOSE days yall.  Woke up with a migraine brewing in the back of my eyes, the dogs licking my face, and the smell of poop in the air. Christian had to take care of his morning constitution of course. Thank the Almighty for Excedrin!

Got to work, and might I add it's pretty bad when you get to work and think, "Ah I'm home." Well, it was a jam packed morning, full of ultrasounds and biopsies, and we had two, somewhat new nurses that we thought had the routine down.  WRONG!!!

They were missing one too many tests for the Doc to let things blow over so when he confronts them about it they get their panties in a wad!  One of them storms out saying, "See ya!", while the other one just walks out. I mean come on people!  I know the medical field isn't easy but just because someone calls you out on a mistake you made, doesn't mean you have to through your hands up in the air and run away!

Whatever happened to sticking something out because you made a commitment? Now if he would have cursed them out, or flat out insulted them I MIGHT have been more understanding, but this is just ridiculous.

Oh, by the way, this all happened before lunch.

After lunch I think things should be ok right?  Good Lord am I ever gonna learn not to think that?  I get a call from a patients daughter saying when they were at her mom's last appointment the Doc might send her to a surgeon and they wanted to know when can the appointment be made.  I tell them I'd have to get the patients chart, speak with the Doc and give them a call back. Sounds reasonable right?  I guess she didn't think so.  She processed to tell me that she didn't like the way I was speaking to her and even went so far as to criticize my tone of voice! Seriously!?!?!?

However, the big, bad, dark cloud that seemed to hang over me most of the day drifted away once me and my daughter made it home, and there sitting in a high chair was the biggest grin you could ever see. Without a stinky diaper on.  :-)

Aaaahhhh Fond Memories.

Not much going on today to blog about, same old same old.  That's a good thing though!!  However, sitting watching the food network and all the cupcake shows reminds me of a heartbreaking incident.

A few months ago I bought one of those icing kits that comes with assorted tips. Excited to try it out me and my daughter go out the next day for cupcake mix, and yes I'm ashamed to say, a cupcake pan.  What I'm just started to get into my baking skills. :-) Anyway, I bake up a batch, and spend almost an hour playing around with my new toy. Feeling very proud of myself, I set the beautiful cupcakes on the counter and head off to give our son his bath while my hubby gets his room picked up.  After his bath I'm headed to the kitchen to make him his night time tottie (don't worry it's just warm milk), and I see it.  An entire dozen cupcakes gone! I whirl around ready to gripe at my hubby and find him with the same shocked face as me.  All of a sudden I look down and see our 90 pound Rottweiler Harley starring at us.  No sooner then the thought formed in my head, "No he didn't" the dog burped!  I mean the kind of burp to make a mother proud!  I just stand there in the middle of my kitchen not knowing whether to cry or laugh over my beautiful cupcakes while my hubby chases the dog outside saying something to the affect of, "After everything mommas done for you and this is what you do to her?"

Looking back now, I laugh my butt off. So, if you have big dogs, word of warning.  Put food in the microwave, oven, fridge, anything to keep them from getting to it.   But at least I know somebody enjoyed them, even if it was just the dog.

All Halloween Weekend!!!

Since Halloween fell on a Sunday this year we found out that some towns here in Oklahoma were doing the trick-or-treating on Saturday instead of on Halloween night.  I loved that idea!!! Thanks to all those "bright" people who are paid to come up with this stuff. You just made Halloween a two day party! I can handle that.  The kids on the other hand......

I don't think they mind so much, however, once the sugar starts dying down they do look a lot like zombies don't ya think?

My daughter spent Saturday with her grandmother and went trick-or-treating (I found out earlier this evening that she was so sugar high Saturday night that she was allowed to stay up until 4:30am) and then tonight we all went to our church for the annual Trunk or Treat.  She's now crashed out on her bed sideways with all her clothes on.  :-)  My son, well, he doesn't get much sugar, and after one piece from dear grampoo and papa, he was bouncing all over the car within 10 min.  He and my hubby are crashed out on the couch drooling.

So is there such a thing as too much Halloween?

My First Rant in Cyberspace.

Well if you're looking at your screen wondering how you got here instead of a sewing blog really showing you how to thread a needle then let me explain my little inside joke.

If you really think about it, and believe me I do, life is like trying to thread a needle.  You have the sturdy, hard core needle always knowing exactly which way it's pointing. Then you have the thread which is always flopping around every which way, never cooperating with you. Somehow you have to get these two very different items to become one and then will it assist you in creating whatever it is your heart can dream up.

Life is very much the same. People, whether it's coworkers, family, friends, whatever, will be at odds with you. So at some point you have to cooperate with the other person and get the job done.

This is my little rantings and stories of everyday life as a nurse/mother/wife/daughter/sister of some very goofy characters that I hope entertains and will create discussions that will not only give inspirations to us all but make us able to laugh at this ride called life.  Remember, it's not the amount of breaths you take in a lifetime, it's the amount of moments that take your breath away.
